What is Phone Pals?

Members of each Phone Pals group are given a date and time when their phones will ring and they will be linked into the conversation. They can then talk to each other as though they were in the same room. Call time will last for approximately one hour and is completely free of charge. Each group will have a host. Initially, this will be a member of Brain Tumour UK. Phone Pals has been running since March 2005.

No Cost

Brain Tumour UK is able to fund the cost of the service and the telephone charges and there are no cost implications for the people involved.

Who is it for?

There are currently four Phone Pals groups with several people in each group. We hope that people will be able to offer support to each other, share experiences, make new friends and improve their quality of life. Each group talks about what is relevant to that group at that time. It can be about brain tumours, treatments, coping with everyday life or where they hope to go on holiday. The host facilitates what is talked about and tries to encourage everyone to join in.
