When someone is diagnosed with a brain tumour, having treatment, is living with a brain tumour or knows someone who has died from a brain tumour, we recognise that these are confusing and anxious times for everyone involved.
We also know that it is difficult to find information and support. Our telephone, letter, email and internet support services offer a skilled ear and understanding, whatever your query or concern, allowing you to ‘talk’ in confidence.
Brain Tumour UK Support services are concerned with all the issues around the impact of brain tumours. Our friendly and informative staff and volunteers will do their best to answer your questions, listen to your concerns and provide up-to-date information when you need it.
We also have ongoing support through our telephone chat groups or support groups with relaxed meetings near you.
We can provide:
- emotional support
- practical help
- put you in touch with other support services, support groups and resources
- information sheets about types of brain tumours, treatments, etc
- possibly offer financial assistance through the Denny Care and Relief Fund
- time to listen to whatever is concerning you
We are unable to provide:
- a counselling service
- medically trained staff, specific medical advice, a second opinion or referrals to specialists
- individual representation of your case for medical or legal issues
However, we are able to signpost you to other organisation who deal with these issues.
Brain Tumour UK is a member of the Telephone Helplines Association.
