How they are chosen

Every research project funded by the Brain Tumour UK is chosen following a rigorous grant application procedure set up by Samatha Dickson Research Trust, taking approximately 9 months to complete.

Applicants have to submit a detailed 20 page application form,
which is then peer reviewed by experts in the field of neurology
from all over the UK, Europe, Canada and the USA. Once each project has been graded by these external referees they are reviewed by
the Scientific and Medical Advisory Board of the SDRT, before the
top projects are awarded the funding to begin work.
