
Professor Colin Blakemore FRS, FMedSci, FRCP (Hon), FSB (Hon) became Brain Tumour UK’s President in October 2010.
Professor Blakemore is a leading neuroscientist at the University of Oxford, with hundreds of scientific papers and many books to his name. He is also a leading communicator on science and a former chief executive of the Medical Research Council.
He aims to support Brain Tumour UK in our work to drive improvements in the early diagnosis and treatment of brain tumours and to ensure that good standards of care are consistently applied across the UK. He is also supporting our efforts to increase the funding for brain tumour research and to increase the rate of progress in the development of new treatments.
