The 45-year-old former England cricketer was one of the participants in a special celebrity edition of ITV’s The Chase, on Saturday, November 26.

Tufnell took home £20,000 for Brain Tumour UK after his team managed to outperform The Chaser, a quiz expert. Other members of the team were Jennie Bond, Ulrika Jonsson and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

Refusing to play it safe during his turn, Tufnell challenged and outwitted The Chaser adding £67,000 to the team’s total, increasing it to £80,000.

In the Final Chase, the team managed to stay ahead of The Chaser, enabling them to share the cash pot and take home £20,000 each to the charities of their choice.

“It was great fun to do and a great opportunity to raise money for the charities close to our hearts,” he says.

”It was a bit nerve-racking, as it was a substantial amount at stake, but it was very exciting and great to win,” says Phil.
