Occasional Volunteers

Our challenge is to raise sufficient money to fund research into brain tumours, as well as offer a local support network to patients and their families. We also need to raise awareness of our organisation so that we are known to those who need us.

There are a number of different roles for volunteers within Brain Tumour UK and we are currently looking for people who can help us on an ad-hoc basis. All over the country. we organise events, raffles, silent auctions and all sorts of activities, and we need volunteers to help us run the various events .

Key tasks

• To help staff and other volunteers to run events on an ad hoc basis

Skills required

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to motivate, enthuse and support others
• An empathy and a commitment to what Brain Tumour UK is trying to achieve
• IT skills – emails, word processing, spreadsheets etc

Resources required

• Access to a telephone and a computer with internet/email facilities
• Working from home, but able to travel to places to help at events
• Car owner/driver

Time required

• Flexible time commitment

You will be supported by Brain Tumour UK’s Volunteer Co-ordinator, and other staff and line managers.

All our volunteers are fully covered by our insurance whilst carrying out roles on our behalf and we offer out-of-pocket expenses. References will be taken up before you start your volunteering role, and Criminal Records Bureau checks are required for certain roles.
