We have several support groups already up and running in Scotland for patients and family members to attend, they are listed below by area.

Introducing a new service...

Telephone Support Group for Scotland

We are introducing a new Telephone Support Group providing support, information and a chance to speak to others in a similar situation in Scotland. Brain Tumour UK fund the calls and an experienced facilitator will take part to ensure that you get the most from your call.

Dundee Brain Tumour UK Support Group

Everyone is welcome to join Brain Tumour UK's monthly support group in Dundee held at Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre in Ninewells Hospital and meets on the second Wednesday of every month (please see below for dates).

The meeting starts at 3.30pm until approximately 5.00. Refreshments will be provided and reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed. This group is aimed at patients, families and friends of those diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Glasgow Brain Tumour UK Support Group

Everyone is welcome to join Brain Tumour UK's monthly support group in Glasgow held at Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre at the Glasgow Western Infirmary and meets on the first Tuesday of every month (please see below for dates). The meeting starts at 1.30pm until approximately 3.00pm and is aimed at patients, families and friends of anyone diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Refreshments will be provided and reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed.

Highlands Brain Tumour UK Support Group

Everyone is welcome to our new Highlands brain tumour support group aimed at patients, families and friends of those diagnosed with a brain tumour. The meetings are held at Maggie's Highlands in Inverness and a list of dates, times and the full location address are listed below. Guest speakers will also be attending the meetings.

Meeting Information

Light refreshments will be provided and any reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Fife Brain Tumour UK Support Group

Everyone is welcome to join Brain Tumour UK's monthly support group in Fife held at Maggie's Cancer Caring Centre, Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. The meeting starts at 6.00pm until approximately 7.30pm and meets on the last Tuesday of every month (please see dates below). The support group is aimed at patients, families and friends of those diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Refreshments will be provided and reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed.

Ayrshire Brain Tumour UK Support Group

Everyone is welcome to join Brain Tumour UK's monthly support group in Ayrshire held at Ayrshire Cancer Support in Kilmarnock and is held on the second Thursday of every month (please see dates below). The meeting starts at 2.00pm until approximately 3.30pm and is aimed at patients, families and friends of those diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Edinburgh Brain Tumour Action support group

Brain Tumour Action runs a friendly monthly support group in Edinburgh, held at the Maggie's Centre in the Western General Hospital and takes place on the first Tuesday of every month (see below for dates). It is unaffiliated with Brain Tumour UK.

The meeting runs between 7:00pm and 9:00pm and is aimed at patients, families and friends of those diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Grampian Brain Tumour Support Group

Everyone is welcome to join Brain Tumour UK's support group in Grampian run in partnership with CLAN Cancer Support in Aberdeen. The meeting will be monthly and is aimed at patients, families and friends of those diagnosed with a brain tumour.

A new national study is collecting blood samples from people diagnosed with glioma in the last three years. The Beatson Oncology Centre, Glasgow, is participating in the study. Find out more
