Phone groups

Phone Pals

Our Phone Pals service offers supportive, free telephone chat groups for you to access by phone from wherever you are.

We aim to give anyone affected by a brain tumour the chance to talk and share, so you can talk about anything that’s relevant. At the start of each call, the members within each group  agree what they want to talk about during that session. The groups are run by an experienced facilitator to ensure that you get the most from your call.

We currently run four Phone Pals groups of up to ten people, each meeting once a month. If you would like to join a Phone Pals group, call our Helpline on 0845 4500 386 or email us to book your place.

Phone Pals meeting times

Group A: Second Monday of the month at 10.15am

Group B: Second Tuesday of the month at 10.15am

Group C: Second Thursday of the month at 10.15am

Group E: First Wednesday of the month at 11am

Phone Pals Plus

Phone Pals Plus runs for four sessions, each an hour long, and focuses on one topic. The group is facilitated by a member of our Helpline team and aims to bring in partners in Session Two for a question-and-answer session. Each session will be hosted by Community Network, at no cost to you.

Before each group starts, and at the end of Session One, participants are asked which key questions they would like answered. These questions will then be explored in Session Two or Three, involving experts in the subject under discussion. The aim is to give participants the chance to talk and share.

If you would like the opportunity to talk with a small group of people experiencing very similar issues and share your experiences, Phone Pals Plus is right for you. You can attend more that one group if it is relevant to your needs, although we may sometimes have to give priority to people who are new to the service.

After the group ends, we will circulate any notes and information about resources discussed during the sessions, along with details of other useful Brain Tumour UK support services. You are welcome to ask about getting in touch with one another on an informal basis. We will pass your message on to the people you want to talk to, but we can’t facilitate any further discussions that you have.

Contact us for details of forthcoming groups.
