The 2009 Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours, a project of the International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA), is being held between 1 January and 7 November 2009. People are encouraged to undertake sponsored walks to raise awareness about brain tumours and to donate the mileage covered to the World Walk's target of circling the earth five times at the equator (equivalent to 125,000 miles or 200,000 kms).

The World Walk symbolically unites all those around the globe whose lives have been touched by a brain tumour. For further information about the International Brain Tumour Alliance and the Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours see www.theibta.org.

Our supporters are taking part in sponsored walk events from the Chilterns to China! In October, Kiki Connor will be walking the Chiltern Hills and Emma Alam will be walking the Great Wall of China.

A whole group of friends has joined together to walk the West Highland Way in August, and Peer Quaide is walking to mark a personal milestone –  the second birthday of his brain tumour survival.

If you would like help to organise an event or to raise money, please contact Claire Glazebrook at claire.glazebrook@braintumouruk.org.uk or on 01494 549185.
