London Underground Collection Co-ordinators and Collectors

London Underground Collection Co-ordinators and Collectors

Our challenge is to raise sufficient money to fund research into brain tumours, as well as offer a local support network to patients and their families. We also need to raise awareness of our organisation so that we are known to those who need us.

We are looking for London Underground Collection Co-ordinators and Collectors. This is a brand new role and a new initiative. We need a Collection Co-ordinator who will arrange permission to hold a collection with the necessary agents, and co-ordinate volunteer collectors who will be at the stations with collection boxes and buckets.

Key tasks

• To know whom to contact to arrange for collections to be held and deal with any licences required
• To help recruit collectors

Skills required

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to motivate, enthuse and support others
• An empathy and a commitment to what Brain Tumour UK is trying to achieve
• IT skills – emails, word processing, spreadsheets etc

Resources required
• Access to a telephone and a computer with internet/email facilities
• Working from home, but able to travel to places to take part and oversee collections

Time required

• Flexible time commitment

You will be supported by Brain Tumour UK’s Volunteer Co-ordinator, the Fundraising Team and other staff and line managers.

All our volunteers are fully covered by our insurance whilst carrying out roles on our behalf and we offer out-of-pocket expenses. References will be taken up before you start your volunteering role, and Criminal Records Bureau checks are required for certain roles.

If you feel you could become one of our Co-ordinators and/or Collectors, then please contact us. We’d love to talk to you about what you think you can manage. Help us to make a difference!
