Jamie Pugh aims high

Singer Jamie Pugh is a Brain Tumour UK patron and fundraiserJamie Pugh aims high

Welsh singer Jamie Pugh is in training to help Brain Tumour UK reach its target of £150,000 to support brain tumour patients and carers in Wales.

Jamie lost his wife, Tracey, to a brain tumour in 1999 when she was just 27 years old. He understands what families go through and wants to help others in the same situation. Jamie did not speak about his own loss during his appearance on 'Britain’s Got Talent' in 2009, because he did not want the sympathy vote. But, he feels the time is now right, and recently became a patron for Brain Tumour UK.

Jamie is planning a celebrity trek to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in 2013 as part of his fundraising efforts for us. Keep up with Jamie's news on Twitter and visit his JustGiving page to donate to the trek.

We need your support, and Jamie would welcome your encouragement! Please contact our Fundraising team if you can help us reach our target together.

Update on support in Wales

We have consulted widely with patients, carers, families, other charities, the NHS and medical professionals to identify the support services most needed by people affected by brain tumour conditions in Wales.

We are raising funds to deliver these services in partnership with other charities and organisations. This will include vital support projects in local communities and increasing people’s awareness of treatments, options and care.
