Advice

Making money is fun!

Especially when it's for such a good cause. Here are some top tips

  • Call on personal support - involve your family, friends, work colleagues, employer, and any group that you belong to.
  • Call on the world – build your own personal fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/ukbts/raisemoney/
  • Do what you like to do – whatever appeals to you will appeal to other people too.
  • Be inventive – host a one-off event, complete a one-off challenge – you can do it!
  • And if you can't be inventive, copy shamelessly! If it works and it's successful, it's worth doing for Brain Tumour UK .
For more ideas and events, see our A-Z of fundraising and profiles of some of our fundraisers on the Fundraising introduction page.

Help and inspiration

We have t-shirts, running vests and baseball caps with the Brain Tumour UK logo to help promote our cause, plus a fundraising information pack. Trudy can supply collecting boxes (and leaflets) suitable for display on a reception, bar counter or tillpoint; email Trudy at trudy.thomas@braintumouruk.org.uk or telephone 01328 701428 .

Collections are another great way to raise funds and awareness. We provide collecting boxes and leaflets. If you're thinking of doing a street collection, read Kathy Oliver's Diary of a Street Collector for inspiration!

Whatever you have in mind, let us know! When you're ready to sign up as a fundraiser, please complete our fundraiser supporter form and return it to Trudy.

Anyone can join in!

Karate Club

In October, the Karate Union of Great Britain’s Woking Club raised over £600 for Brain Tumour UK with a sponsored sparring training session. Everybody trained hard and got something out of the session. Our thanks to all the friends and families who sponsored the participants and particular thanks to Strata Tiles Ltd for their support.
