Advice

Making money is fun!

Especially when it's for such a good cause. Here are some top tips

  • Call on personal support - involve your family, friends, work colleagues, employer, and any group that you belong to.
  • Call on the world – build your own personal fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/ukbts/raisemoney/
  • Do what you like to do – whatever appeals to you will appeal to other people too.
  • Be inventive – host a one-off event, complete a one-off challenge – you can do it!
  • And if you can't be inventive, copy shamelessly! If it works and it's successful, it's worth doing for Brain Tumour UK .
For more ideas and events, see our A-Z of fundraising and profiles of some of our fundraisers on the Fundraising introduction page.

Help and inspiration

We have t-shirts, running vests and baseball caps with the Brain Tumour UK logo to help promote our cause – and lightweight polythene banners for your supporters to wave!

Claire can supply collecting boxes (and leaflets) suitable for display on a reception, bar counter or tillpoint; email Claire at claire.glazebrook@braintumouruk.org.uk

Collections are another great way to raise funds and awareness. We provide collecting boxes and leaflets. If you're thinking of doing a street collection, read Kathy Oliver's Diary of a Street Collector for inspiration!

Whatever you have in mind, let us know! When you're ready to sign up as a fundraiser, please complete our fundraiser supporter form and return it to Claire.

Anyone can join in!

Tandem Skydive

Saul, Michael and Marcus Saul’s descent

Raising a total of £4,800 on 13 September 2008, Michael and Marcus Cox and Saul Ratcliffe each completed a tandem skydive at Old Buckenham airfield in Norfolk. Michael and Marcus sadly lost their aunt to a brain tumour. The three each raised £1,600 in sponsorship and have given the money in her memory.

If you would like to take part in a tandem skydive to raise vital funds for Brain Tumour UK, please contact our Head of Fundraising Claire Glazebrook on claire.glazebrook@braintumouruk.org.uk
