We Cannot Do It Without You

Thanks to your fantastic fundraising efforts, we are funding:

  • Our Helpline, 0845 4500 386, which people can call for support and information.

  • Research into the development of new treatments for brain tumours.

  • The Denny Care and Relief Fund which provides practical support and relief for brain tumour patients, their carers, family and friends.

  • Target – our regular newsletter that keeps our beneficiaries and supporters in touch with the latest medical treatments and key developments in brain tumour research, articles on nutrition and health, alternative therapies, community fundraising events and further ways to support our work.

  • Local support groups and Phone Pals – a way of breaking the isolation that many people experience when affected by a brain tumour, either as a patient, carer or someone bereaved, an opportunity to meet people in similar circumstances and sharing experiences.

  • Campaigning – working with others to raise awareness of issues, support research and improve access to the latest treatments.

But there is so much more to do! In the UK , 49 people every day receive the devastating and too often life-threatening diagnosis that they have a brain tumour. The services that we provide and research projects cost a great deal of money and without funds we will not be able to keep them going – please do all you can to help us with a donation today.

If you're thinking about fundraising for Brain Tumour UK but don't know where to begin, take a look at our fundraising advice page and also at some of our fundraiser profiles.

Deb has raised over £6,600 from a X-biking and aerobics event. Attended by the local mayor, this event also raised much needed publicity for Brain Tumour UK in the Nottingham area. Everyone participating worked hard, not only in raising the sponsorship money, but with the physical challenges of the day! Deb, who has a brain tumour herself, also attracted the attention of Derby County Football Club who will be giving her a donation as part of the Premier League's Creating Chances initiative. Deb is also aiming to help us set up a much-needed support group in the area. Watch this space!

Neil's first fundraising idea was a sponsored wing-walk. Unable to do so for legal reasons, he found he was also too heavy for the biplane! Undefeated, he set up sponsored slim and other events.
