Working together with the same aims
Brain Tumour UK actively promotes a multi-agency/multi-organisational and multi-professional approach to all our research, education and support activities. We are committed to developing relationships and partnerships with:
- Other brain tumour and cancer charities
- Other relevant voluntary organisations
- Health, medical, scientific professionals
- Neuro-oncology centres
- Pharmaceutical companies
- Policy makers and statutory bodies
- Trust Funds
- Corporates
We believe that will we only make a significant impact on the quality of life of brain tumour patients, their families and carers if we have active dialogue with all of the above bodies and share our resources, knowledge and expertise.

Joining together to make a difference

Serious business
Roderick Marsden, a long-standing supporter, set up the first fundraising group for Brain Tumour UK in 2007. This year he’s seconded an employee, Claire Miller, to us from his business, the Travail Employment Group. Claire will be helping Roderick to run the group, which now also offers patient support, and she will also be working on our Annual Conference in 2008. Read more in our latest edition of Target.
Walking the talk
1,725 miles were walked last Easter at the start of a 2008 challenge to ‘walk the world’! Brain Tumour UK have joined together with the Ed Evans Foundation to raise awareness of the disease which affects the lives of many people each year.
Over 220 walkers took part in the sponsored walk, inspired by Ed Evans who set up his foundation following the diagnosis of his brain tumour in 2001. His battle was sadly lost last October but work to raise funds continues in his name.
By joining together with other organisations, medical professionals and businesses, we will all reach our aims quicker.
