Our thousands of supporters, donors and volunteers are the ones who enable us to fund research into brain tumours, to run support groups and a phone helpline for patients and carers, to host an annual conference where people can meet medical professionals, to provide information, and to do what we can to improve the knowledge and experience for anyone whose life has been touched by a brain tumour.

Your story is important
We are occasionally asked by journalists if one of our patients or carers would be willing to talk to them about their experiences for magazine, radio or news features.
If you are willing to share your story with others, please let us know by calling 0845 4500 386 or email enquiries@braintumouruk.org.uk
We need you
We face huge challenges in finding better treatments and improving the lives of brain tumour patients. Medical research into the causes and treatments of brain tumours is under-funded and although knowledge has increased, it’s growing too slowly.
There is a limited capture of statistics to truly understand the extent of this disease and the many sources of information demonstrate inconsistencies. However, existing statistics indicate that:
- Around 13.000 people of all ages are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year in the UK
- Around 5,000 of these are cases of primary brain tumours
- The incidence of brain tumours has increased by 30-40% in the past 30 years - that's 2% each year
- More facts about brain tumours. (Please note: Facts about brain tumours are a statistical guide based on averages. They do not tell us how an individual will respond to treatment.)
