Get the tools for brain tumour campaigns

A new website is a one-stop hub for campaigners, patients and carers providing them with the tools to push for improved policy and services for people affected by brain tumours.

The Brain Tumour Consortium, a coalition of brain tumour organisations including Brain Tumour UK, has launched the website to draw attention to its campaign to improve outcomes for brain tumour patients.

Jenny Baker, Chief Executive of Brain Tumour UK says: “This new website is full of useful tools and information to help anyone who wants to campaign for better policy in relation to brain tumour care. Whether it is campaigning for better funding for research, consistent minimum standards of care or measures to promote early diagnosis, our supporters always want to help. The resources on this website will enable them to do so.”

The Brain Tumour Consortium is working with politicians, clinicians and other charities to deliver the three ‘asks’ outlined in its Manifesto, but supporters often want to know how they can help and the website provides them with the resources to join the campaign.
Initially, these resources include:

  • details of the Brain Tumour Consortium’s campaign objectives and why they are important;
  • a guide on how to influence Members of Parliament and details of MPs involved with the All Party Brain Tumour Group;
  • a summary of the current Health and Social Bill and how it could affect brain tumour care;
  • access to the Brain Tumour Consortium’s Manifesto;
  • facts and figures about brain and CNS tumours in the UK.
