Our challenge is to raise sufficient money to fund research into brain tumours, as well as offer a local support network to patients and their families. We also need to raise awareness of our organisation so that we are known to those who need us.
We are looking for reliable and trustworthy people who will place our collection boxes and leaflets in prominent venues in their community, and collect the contributions for us when the boxes are full, as well as topping up the leaflets.
Can you help us by:
• Having local knowledge of where best to place the boxes and leaflets
• Collecting in the money, counting it and sending it to the Fundraising Department at our head office in Latimer, Buckinghamshire
• Keeping in regular contact with the Fundraising Department so that your successes can be publicised through our website and Target magazine
Skills required
• Good interpersonal skills and excellent telephone manner
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• The ability to be able to keep records of your activities
• IT skills – emails, word processing, spread sheets etc
• Good organisational skills
Resources required
• Access to a telephone
• Access to a computer with internet/email facility
• Car owner/driver
Time required
• Flexible time commitment
We will give you the help and support that you need to carry out your role. You will not be expected to travel an excessive distance from your home and we do pay towards volunteers’ travel expenses.
References will be taken up before you start your volunteering role. All our volunteers are fully covered by our insurance whilst carrying out roles on our behalf.
