Brain Tumour UK launches charm bracelet with top designers
Acclaimed London fashion designer Maria Grachvogel has launched an exclusive 'Dream' charm for the fundraising campaign inspired by seven-year-old Mason Fountain – a brain tumour patient.
The charm is the second in a series of charms created to fit a charm bracelet designed by Antonio Marsocci, owner of the Think Positive brand.
Antonio was so inspired by Mason’s positive attitude in the face of a life-threatening brain tumour that he created the bracelet to help raise money for Mason’s Magic, an official fundraising umbrella group supporting the work of Brain Tumour UK. All profits from the sale of charms and bracelet will support the charity’s work.
Every month a new charm with a positive word designed by a different designer will be released for the bracelet.
Maria Grachvogel (pictured second from left) has weighed in to support Mason by designing the second charm, which carries the message: 'Dream'. The 'Dream' charm and bracelet were launched during a prestigious event in London on 15 May 2012. Danila Tarcinale (pictured third from left), who has been recognised in Italy and UK awards competitions for her jewellery, handcrafts each 'Dream' charm.
The celebrations included a champagne reception, speeches from the designers and a prize draw.
Jenny Baker OBE, Brain Tumour UK Chief Executive (pictured far right), says: “We are very grateful to Antonio and Maria for offering their creative talents to help raise awareness and funds for Brain Tumour UK. Mason is a very special little boy who has inspired so many other people with his positive attitude and determination to help other children like him.”
Antonio Marsocci says: “This was the first time I met Mason in person, we’ve always communicated on Twitter until now. I felt a special connection to him. He is beautiful little boy and his attitude is a lesson for us all.”
Mason said of the bracelet, “It’s really pretty, and I really like the Think Positive charm. I hope people will buy it so we can raise lots for people with brain tumours.”
The first charm, created by Antonio and launched in March, carries Antonio and Mason’s shared message: “Think Positive”.
